Chicago, September 1, 2005–Danaher Industrial Controls Group (DICG) announces the S428A Series digital panel indicator, a next-generation electronic process indicator with alarm that provides ease of use and application flexibility in a variety of process measurement applications. Fast and accurate, the new generation S428A features a high contrast, high visibility user-selectable dual color display option with fixed red or green displays or a green to red color change when an alarm condition occurs.
Like its 428 predecessor, the S428A is an easy to use, low cost solution for process display applications including temperature , pressure, speed tracking and force monitoring. It provides excellent visibility and high accuracy all within an affordable ultra-compact housing made of durable ABS plastic. Furthermore, it’s NEMA 4X/IEC IP66 front panel rating ensures dust proof and wash-down resistance
Enhanced Accuracy, Application Flexibility & Reliability
The new solid state electronic S428A process indicator from Dynapar responds to on-going market trends toward more functionality and reliability. This new generation digital process indicator is designed to provide accuracy to +-1% of full scale and can withstand industrial temperatures from 0° to 131°F (0° to +55°C).
The S428A offers a number of new feature capabilities for application flexibility over its predecessor the S428, including:

NEW SSR driver output that permits the drive of up to 3 typical SSR/SCR inputs

NEW Plug-in modules all PV re-transmission or transmitter power supply and up to 5 alarm relays (latching or non-latching) for easy field changeability

Up to 3 Alarm settings with a latching alarm included as standard

NEW Jumperless configuration with self-recognition of option boards for simplified installation and start up.

NEW Multi-point scaling (linearization) and Tare features included as standard for enhanced accuracy in non-linear applications (e.g. flow applications)
Furthermore, this S428A indicator is UL (UL Recognition E67237), CE and CSA compliant (CSA Certification LR26861).
Economical – Low Cost of Ownership
The S428A process indicator provides economical control at a lower installed cost than other counters with comparable features in their class. With solid state electronic circuitry and utilizing surface mount manufacturing techniques, the S428A has far fewer moving parts than it’s legacy 428 counterpart that required more periodic repair and maintenance.
Seamless Drop-In Replacement
The new generation S428A is a highly improved direct replacement for legacy S428 models that will be phased out in the future. Users of the legacy S428 model process indicator can easily drop in a new generation S428A into their existing applications with no fuss. The new generation electronic models have been designed to provide seamless transition and direct drop-in replacement capability for our customers both in wiring and operation.
